Clinical Guidelines & Limitations
- Limitations of Virtual Care: Online assessments cannot replace physical examinations for certain complex scenarios. If our doctors suspect conditions like acute appendicitis, irregular heartbeats, or similar issues, you may be asked to attend for a face-to-face consult or hospital evaluation.
- Electronic Prescriptions Policy: While we provide e-prescriptions straight to your pharmacy, online dispensing has strict regulations. As a firm clinical rule, we do not prescribe benzodiazepines, such as night sedation or anxiolytics, via online consultations without a prior face-to-face evaluation, and only to fully registered LC Medical patients.
- Certificates & Consultant Referrals: Providing official Medical/Social Certificates and formal Referral Letters to consultants or outpatient clinics is a structured service reserved strictly for patients officially registered with our family practice.
- Emergency Medical Care: Telehealth is not suitable for emergencies. If you suspect a heart attack, stroke, blood clot, or severe sudden illness, please bypass online booking and immediately call 999 or 112, or proceed directly to the nearest Emergency Department.
- Medical Card Notice: LC Medical Care currently operates on a private-fee basis only. We are actively working towards accepting HSE Medical Cards and GP Visit Cards in the near future to coincide with the launch of our physical practice.
